Why should I purchase an indoor waterfall?
An interior water feature will enhance the look
and feel of your home or office, providing mental
and physical health benefits in a way that is aesthetically
pleasing. The sound of cascading water soothes and
relaxes, minimizing the effects of stress and masking
unpleasant background noise. An indoor water feature
provides elegance as a functional piece of art, complementing
a wide range of decors. Interior water features also
provide physical health benefits by way of negative
ions; invisible electrically charged particles that
have the capacity to remove dust, pollen and other
airborne particles from the air making it easier
to breath and giving us a sense of well being.
Indoor
waterfalls are also natural humidifiers, helping
to keep the relative humidity in our rooms at optimum
levels which is not only good for our furniture,
but also for our skin and hair. For

benefits, please click here.

How does an indoor water feature work?
Interior water
features work as self-contained, stand-alone decorative
items - there is no need to hook them up to a water
line or install a drain.. You only need to add water
and plug them in. Each unit features a pump mechanism
that transports water from the base of the water
feature to the top, where it is released and returns
to the basin by way of gravity. Indoor waterfalls
maintain optimum efficiency if they are left running
constantly to keep the pump mechanism flowing smoothly.
It is important that the submersible pump and light
are always covered with water to prevent overheating
The
water flow pump is completely adjustable in accordance
with your preferences. The cascading water is both
aesthetically pleasing and beneficial to your health
- please visit our Benefits section for more information.

How much maintenance is required
for an interior water feature?
Waterfalls and other home water features do not
need much by way of upkeep. After the initial set-up,
only occasional cleaning is required. It is important
to maintain a proper water level to ensure the functionality
of the water feature's pump and to keep submerged
lights cool.
Water conditioners and other care products
are recommended to prevent the growth of algae and
the build-up of mineral deposits. For more detailed
information about maintaining the beauty and functionality
of your waterfall, please visit our Ask The Experts
page .

Should I use distilled or tap water?
Using distilled or reverse osmosis water is highly
recommended. Over time, your fountain may develop
mineral deposits from hard tap water that may affect
the pump's performance.
Water treatments will help maintain your fountain
between cleanings. There are several different treatments
that we recommend. Our experts will assist you in choosing
the proper products for your water feature at the time
of purchase.

What should I do about a noisy
pump ?
A noisy pump usually indicates that there is a problem
with the water levels. Pumps make loud gurgling noises
when they suck up a mixture of air and water, which
can cause the pump to overheat and stop working. Check
to make sure the the pump is fully submerged, and that
the waterfall's water is at the level outlined in the
product's instructions. Refill as necessary. It may
take a day or two for the bubbles to clear out of the
waterline.
If the pump makes a vibrating sound, it may be clogged
with debris. Make sure there are no foreign objects
in the water, and try cleaning the pump according to
the directions found in your product guide. Change
the water if there is debris in the basin to avoid
a reoccurance.
Alternatively, the pump may be contacting the basin
of the waterfall as it operates. Placing a sponge between
the pump and the basin will eliminate the noise and
will not affect the pump's operation.

How can I prolong the pump's life?
Can I perform repairs on it?
Pumps should work properly for a long period of time
if routine maintenance is performed and water levels
kept at the proper level. If the pump on your indoor
or outdoor water feature stops working, check to make
sure it is fully submersed, and that debris has not
clogged it. You should never attempt to perform repairs
on the pump. Doing so risks electrical shock and voids
your warranty. Please contact us if you need repairs
or a replacement.

Do foggers or other accessories
require any maintenance or special care?
Like interior waterfalls, foggers and other accessories
require only minimal maintenance and routine cleaning
to perform effectively. Clean water and a soft cloth
should keep foggers and accessories clean. Foggers
should run for no more than eight hours to avoid
burn-out. Other accessories do not require any maintenance
or special care, unless indicated in the manufacturer's
instructions.

What's the difference between indoor
and outdoor waterfalls?
There are many differences - each interior water feature
is specially-designed for indoor use only. Outdoor
water features should never be used inside. These waterfalls
have modified parts that are made to withstand the
elements and have certain electrical components that
should only be used outdoors. Indoor waterfalls lack
these components, and may pose a fire hazard.
Finishes vary between outdoor and interior waterfalls
to optimize the water feature's lifespan. Interior
water features will deteriorate rapidly if placed outdoors.
Oxidation and other signs of aging will set in much
faster.
Outdoor waterfalls also pose a hazard if placed indoors
because most are manufactured to allow for a dramatic
splashing effect. While this is safe for outdoor areas,
it can create a hazard indoors.
In the description for each fountain, you will see
a line that says either "Indoors Only", "Outdoors
Only", or "Indoors/Outdoors". Failure
to follow these guidelines can result in the damage
cited above.
